Meet The Team
Our Founder
Lucy
Hi, Im Lucy, the founder and a trustee of See Me Be CIO and a passionate advocate of the rights of people with a learning disability.
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2006 and have spent the majority of my career working in Learning Disabilities Teams across the South West. I currently work in Wiltshire.
As an Occupational Therapist, I have always focused on an individual’s abilities and strengths in order to help them to engage in meaningful activities. I believe that in the right environment and with scaffolded support in place, people with a Learning Disability can reach their full potential.
I love to be outside, to garden, to make things from what grow and to be productive. These are all driving values behind our work here at See Me Be.
Our Job Coach
Helen
Hi, Im Helen. I am the See Me Be Job Coach.
My journey with See Me Be began when I was working with children with Learning Disabilities, Autism and associated difficulties. I have previously taught in London in a primary school before moving into Additional Educational Needs in Luton and Dunstable. After having my first child, my family moved to Northamptonshire where I taught young people aged 16 and over, before moving to Wiltshire and teaching in Chippenham for 15 years.
See Me Be is a practical solution to the needs of students and adults who want to work in Wiltshire - and I know how important it is, having witnessed firsthand how frustrated and lost many young people can be when leaving school at 18, or when an EHCP ends.
I love arts and crafts, gardening and green spaces.; See Me Be is the perfect combination of learning and nature.
Our Trustees
Stella
Hi, Im Stella.
I trained as a nurse after I finished school, before transitioning to aa career in education. after getting married and starting a family. At first I worked in a pre-school, before teaching at a local primary school. As my three children got older, I started working in local schools and colleges for students with additional educational needs.
I have been a trustee for See Me Be since it was founded in 2020. I have a sister with Learning Disabilities and have worked with many young people with a Learning Disability access Wiltshire.
I believe that people with a Learning Disability should be paid fairly for the work that they do, and should receive as many opportunities as possible to build and develop their skills.
Emma
Hi, Im Emma.
I have worked as an NHS Physiotherapist for the past 20 years and have specialised in supporting adults with Learning Disabilities since 2009. I also have lived experience of being in a neurodiverse family and recognise that everybody is unique, with their own personal gifts that just need to be tapped into and nurtured.
Im passionate about helping to protect the natural world, the health benefits of green spaces and helping others to live life as richly and positively as possible, so becoming a trustee of See Me Be has been very exciting.
I live in Wiltshire with my family, ancient cat, naughty sausage dog and three chatty chickens. I love reading, spending time in nature, crafting, gardening and cake!
